Election assessment mission
Parliamentary Elections, 12 June 2010
Following an invitation from Slovakia's Foreign Ministry and based on the recommendation of an ODIHR needs assessment mission that was carried out on 21-23 April, ODIHR deployed an election assessment mission on 31 May for the 12 June parliamentary elections.
Led by Ambassador Jolanda Brunetti, the mission consisted of 10 election experts from nine OSCE participating States. The mission held meetings with state representatives, election officials, political parties, and representatives of the media, civil society, and the international community.
According to the mission's final report: "The parliamentary elections were conducted in a pluralistic environment characterized by general respect for fundamental rights and freedoms, equitable campaign conditions and a high degree of public trust in the impartiality of the election administration."
