Election assessment mission
General elections, 4 July 2024
Following an invitation from the authorities of the United Kingdom and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR has deployed an Election Assessment Mission (EAM) for these elections.
The mission will assess the elections for their compliance with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards, as well as with national legislation. Specific aspects include the implementation of the legal framework, election administration, candidate registration, campaign and campaign finance, election dispute resolution, and election media coverage.
In line with ODIHR methodology, the EAM will not carry out systematic or comprehensive observation of the voting, counting and tabulation on election day.
A final report will be issued approximately two months after the end of the electoral process.
Previous Elections
ODIHR has previously observed five elections in the country, most recently the 8 June 2017 general election.
