Gender analyst
The gender analyst looks at issues related to women's participation in elections.
The gender analyst monitors and analyses the participation of women in the electoral process, as candidates, voters and election administrators. This involves meeting with women candidates, party activists and electoral administrators, and with domestic women's NGOs.
Although not every election observation mission has a dedicated gender analyst, there is always one member of the core team who has responsibility for monitoring gender issues, usually the political analyst.
