About
ODIHR will organize an expert consultation meeting on addressing systemic challenges in judiciaries on 12 December 2023 in Warsaw. In particular, the meeting will provide a space to identify, share and discuss some of the lessons learned in the context of vetting and other extraordinary judicial reform processes.
The meeting will bring together high-level international experts on justice sector reform and anti-corruption, including from regional and international organizations; authorities and civil society experts from contexts where vetting or other extraordinary judicial reform processes have taken or are taking place, as well as from OSCE participating States where comprehensive judicial reforms are under discussion; and academics working on the topic.
The event will provide an opportunity to identify, share and discuss some of the systemic problems facing judiciaries in the OSCE region, as well as the risks, challenges and lessons learned from those contexts where vetting or other extraordinary judicial reform processes have been or are being carried out. Recommendations based on the discussions of the working group will be formulated after the meeting.
