About
Following up on its previous assessments of the progress in implementing the OSCE Action Plan on Improving the Situation of Roma and Sinti within the OSCE Area, ODIHR is preparing to publish its fourth Status Report on the implementation of the Action Plan, marking the 20th anniversary of its adoption. As part of this work, the Office is organising a consultation workshop to discuss preliminary findings and gather further information from Roma and Sinti civil society elaborating on persisting challenges and factors influencing the process, exchange replicable best practices and note priority areas of intervention and recommendations.
About the Status Report
The fourth Status Report will take stock of the implementation of commitments by OSCE participating States, review progress made and outline remaining challenges in improving the situation of Roma and Sinti across the region. The assessment aims to provide participating States and other relevant stakeholders with a comprehensive mapping of the situation of Roma and Sinti, analyze the status of implementation, describe factors influencing the process and provide recommendations. The Status Report also aims to stimulate debates and recommendations on potential strategies for improving the situation of Roma and Sinti.
While data provided by the OSCE participating States represents the primary source for the review and assessment presented in the report, the report will also be supplemented by the input provided by the OSCE field operations, Roma and Sinti civil society organizations, other international organisations and academia.
The event is open only for the invited participants.
