About

The event will take place on 23 November 2021 on the margins of the High-Level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Appraisal of the United Nations Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons.

The side event is intended to highlight the importance of educational opportunities for integrating victims and survivors of human trafficking into society, assisting them with becoming economically independent and reducing their vulnerability to re-exploitation. The event will bring together survivors of trafficking and healthcare and education experts to discuss ways to increase education and training about the need for trauma-informed, victim-centered, comprehensive support for victims and survivors of trafficking.

Participants are encouraged to live tweet about the event and the importance of education for victims/survivors using the hashtags #seats4survivors and #endhumantrafficking.
