About
ODIHR is organizing a five-day online training on human rights monitoring and reporting for Roma human rights defenders in Ukraine. The objective of the workshop is to enable human rights defenders to independently carry out quality and objective human rights monitoring and reporting activities.
Topics and goals
The training programme covers the human rights monitoring cycle, including:
- human rights framework
- monitoring principles
- initial assessment
- information gathering and verification
- follow-up advocacy activities
The workshop also features a session on digital safety and security for human rights monitors, with emphasis on secure information management. Training sessions will combine theory and practice, and participants will be engaged in role-play scenarios.
This training event is specifically designed for Roma civil society in Ukraine and participants are selected based on their prior experience in human rights monitoring and/or other human rights work on Roma issues.
The training will be conducted in Ukrainian and English, with simultaneous interpretation.
