OSCE election observers to announce their findings in Belarus on Monday

MINSK, 17 March, 2006 - The OSCE Election Observation Mission, deployed to monitor the 19 March presidential election in Belarus, will announce its preliminary findings and conclusions at a press conference on Monday.

The Mission is a joint undertaking of the OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

The Mission includes 46 experts and long-term observers, deployed throughout Belarus, and over 500 short-term observers who will monitor activities on election day.

The press conference will be held at 14:00 on Monday, 20 March, at Hotel Belarus, Minsk.
