About the event
Every year on 9 December, the world marks International Anti-Corruption Day, following the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the UN Convention against Corruption in 2003. To mark the occasion, the OSCE Office of the Co-ordinator of Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA) and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) are hosting the OSCE International Anti-Corruption Day Conference.
Now in its second edition, the conference highlights why corruption is so damaging to societies — and why coordinated, long-term action is essential. It provides a space to take stock of progress made across the OSCE region, share practical experiences, and explore new ways to strengthen integrity, transparency and accountability.
The event will also present updates to From Commitment to Action: OSCE’s Anti-Corruption and Good Governance Progress Report 2023–2024, offering an evidence-based look at achievements and outstanding challenges.
What the event will cover
The conference brings together government representatives, parliamentarians, civil society, youth networks, journalists, and international partners to discuss how OSCE participating States can better prevent and address corruption — and what tools are proving most effective.
Discussions will explore:
- Emerging challenges and opportunities, including how artificial intelligence can support transparency and reinforce accountability
- Youth engagement, focusing on the role young people play in building cultures of integrity
- Parliamentary integrity, with a practical look at managing conflicts of interest and ensuring responsible lobbying
- Progress across the OSCE region, informed by the updated 2023–2024 OSCE Progress Report
Participants will leave with a clearer picture of current trends, promising approaches, and the next steps needed to strengthen good governance frameworks across the region.
By highlighting achievements and encouraging open, practical dialogue, the OSCE reaffirms its commitment to supporting participating States in building resilience, strengthening institutions, and promoting integrity at all levels.
Registration
The event will be open to the delegations of OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation, OSCE executive structures (including field operations), representatives of international organizations, and invited experts, upon prior registration.
