Election expert team
Presidential Election, 13 and 14 January 2023
Following an invitation from the authorities of the Czech Republic to observe the presidential election scheduled for 13 and 14 January 2023, and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR has deployed an Election Expert Team (EET) for this election.
The mission will assess the election for their compliance with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards, as well as with national legislation. Observers will, in particular, look into conduct of the campaign, campaign finance as well as media environment and media coverage of the election. They will also assess how prior ODIHR election-related recommendations have been implemented.
The mission will visit a limited number of polling stations on election day and systematic observation of voting, counting or tabulation of results on election days is not envisaged.
A final report on the observation, including potential recommendations, will be published approximately two months after the end of the election process.
Previous Elections
ODIHR has previously assessed five elections in the country, most recently 2021 parliamentary elections.
