The seminar will address the principles of good election administration and provide an opportunity for OSCE delegations, election experts, election management bodies, civil society groups and other stakeholders to discuss challenges related to the administration of elections in line with relevant OSCE commitments, international obligations and other standards for democratic elections. Within two sessions ODIHR will present its Handbook for the Observation of Election Administration, and the participants will review the following topics:
• International obligations, OSCE commitments and other standards and principles applicable to election administration;
• The role of election management bodies and other stakeholders in the implementation of key principles for election administration.
Participation in this event is by invitation only.
The event is part of the ODIHR activities to maintain its professionalism and further improve its election observation methodology, as tasked by the OSCE participating States.
