About
ODIHR's Tolerance and Non-Discrimination Department, in partnership with UNESCO and the Council of Europe, is organizing a second roundtable meeting to promote the Guidelines for Educators on Countering Intolerance and Discrimination against Muslims: Addressing Islamophobia through Education. The first meeting focused on "Countering Intolerance against Muslims through Education for Societies in Transition" and took place in Vienna on 6 September 2012.
The objective of the upcoming meeting is to promote the Guidelines among the UNESCO network of educators and discuss how they can be used to raise awareness on the respect for diversity and social cohesion in the era of globalization.
The event will also function as an exchange of regional experiences among policymakers, such as the representatives of the Ministries of Education, educational institutions for professional development and teacher training programmes.
