About

The conference at the University of Vilnius will build on the findings from the OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting on National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) that took place 14-15 April 2011 in Vienna.

It will bring together NHRIs from across the OSCE area to discuss their ongoing work and to review good practices with a view to strengthening the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the institutions. The conference will, in particular, explore existing practices of co-operation and relationships between NHRIs and parliaments, the executive, the judiciary, and civil society, respectively. Renowned NHRI experts will make presentations, and experiences of co-operation will be shared from other parts of the world. It is expected that about 80 participants will contribute to the conference.

Interested participants from NHRIs, government representatives, and civil society are kindly requested to contact Ms. Aleksandra Zagrodzka at Aleksandra.Zagrodzka@odihr.pl or +48 22 52 00 889.

For any substantive content issues, please get in touch with Ms. Liane Adler, ODIHR Human Rights Adviser: Liane.Adler@odihr.pl or +48 5200 759.
