Serbia: Urgent Opinion on the Revised Draft Law Amending the Law on Prevention of Corruption (As of July 2026)

On 23 July 2026, the Secretary General of the National Assembly of Serbia sent to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) a request for a legal review of a revised version of the Draft Law Amending the Law on Preventing Corruption, as of July 2026 (the Draft Law). This followed the earlier request of 19 May 2026 for a review of a previous version of the Draft Law, which resulted in the publication of an Urgent Opinion on 26 June 2026 (the June 2026 Urgent Opinion).

This Urgent Opinion was prepared in response to the above request. ODIHR conducted this assessment within its general mandate to assist OSCE participating States in the implementation of their OSCE human dimension commitments. ODIHR remains ready to continue providing legislative assistance, including through the review of a revised Draft Law and other existing or draft legislation relating to political parties and electoral reform.
