Quick Guide on Preventing and Addressing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Places of Deprivation of Liberty
This is a quick reference book containing practical information about the problem of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in criminal justice facilities. It proposes various safeguards to prevent and respond to such violence.
This guidance is for practitioners working in criminal justice systems, especially those involved in arresting, investigating, interviewing or detaining suspects, those accused of a crime and prisoners or detainees. The guide is based on ODIHR’s 2019 publication, Preventing and Addressing Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Places of Deprivation of Liberty.
