About

ODIHR has developed the course to strengthen the capacity of police officers to work effectively with Roma and Sinti while complying with international human rights standards.

The course involves police trainers, including staff from police academies and schools in Italy. The training will equip participants with the understanding of effective policing strategies that are fair and responsive to the needs of the people they serve. It will also increase their knowledge of and sensitivity to gender-specific issues that Roma and Sinti women face.

The participants will subsequently be engaged in training law enforcement officials at the national level.

The event will be conducted in Italian and English, with simultaneous interpretation.
