About
As part of ODIHR's “Advancing the Human Dimension of Security in Ukraine” project, the Contact Point for Roma and Sinti Issues (CPRSI) will host the online meeting entitled “Enhancing Cooperation in the Field of Human Rights Monitoring and Advocacy: Inter-Regional Networking Meeting of Roma Civil Society”.
The goal of this event is to provide a platform for discussion among Roma civil society representatives on key issues and challenges - including hate-motivated incidents and hate crimes affecting Roma in Ukraine.
Objectives
In this regard, the meeting will:
- include introductions and discussions on how participants address these issues through their own work
- facilitate exchange of good initiatives and best practices
- identify most effective ways to combating racism and discrimination
Particular challenges facing Roma women and youth will also be discussed, along with ways to empower them and increase their participation in related policies and matters. This involves human rights monitoring and advocacy activities. The event will be conducted in Ukrainian and English, with simultaneous interpretation.
