About
ODIHR's Anti-Trafficking Programme is organizing an Expert Group Meeting on Human Rights Protection in the Return of Trafficked Persons. The Expert Group Meeting will bring together around 20 international experts from civil society, UN bodies, EU agencies and other intergovernmental organizations working on issues of combating human trafficking and ensuring the safe return of trafficked persons and vulnerable groups.
The experts will discuss the draft Guide on Human Rights in the Return of Trafficked Persons, developed by ODIHR. The draft Guide outlines international standards and good practices on human rights-compliant procedures on the return of victims of trafficking. The Guide will be published later this year and will be a valuable tool in assisting participating States and non-state actors in protecting the human rights of trafficked persons during the return process.
