Fourteen representatives from civil society and domestic non-partisan election observation organizations from Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia are participating in a four-day training event on good practices in election observation organized by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

Four ODIHR elections experts are providing the training, which began on 12 October in Budva, Montenegro.

The interactive sessions, covering international standards and commitments for democratic elections, the structure of election observation missions, the role of long and short-term observers, and the drafting and presentation of election observation reports, are designed to allow participants  to practice their skills.

The topics covered during the training were chosen based on the needs identified by the participants themselves and have been tailored to reflect the situation in the trainees' home countries.

Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia are among the OSCE’s Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation.
