International election observers to present findings at news conference in Skopje on Monday

SKOPJE, 3 June 2011 – The international observers monitoring the early parliamentary elections will present their preliminary statement at a news conference on Monday, 6 June, in Skopje.
The international observation is a common endeavour involving the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The preliminary statement will be delivered by Special Co-ordinator Roberto Battelli who leads the short-term OSCE observer mission and heads the OSCE PA delegation, followed by Jean-Charles Gardetto, Head of the PACE delegation, and Julian Peel Yates, Head of the OSCE/ODIHR long-term election observation mission.
This common endeavour comprises some 300 observers from 41 countries, including 41 long-term observers and experts from the OSCE/ODIHR, 187 short-term observers seconded by participating States upon request by the OSCE/ODIHR, as well as 47 parliamentarians and staff from the OSCE PA, and 15 from PACE.
Journalists are invited to attend the news conference on Monday, 6 June, at 14:00 at the Aleksandar Palace Hotel in Skopje.
