ODIHR's third annual meeting for its network of national contact points on combating hate crime got under way in Warsaw on 16 November, International Day of Tolerance.

The two-day meeting provided an opportunity for those responsible for the collection and dissemination of national data on hate crimes to exchange experiences and information with ODIHR and with each other. Participants used the opportunity to explore methods of data collection and approaches to appropriate legislative responses, and they also shared good practices on projects designed to respond to hate crimes.

ODIHR used the event to release its latest annual report on hate crime, Hate Crimes in the OSCE Region: Incidents and Responses-Annual Report for 2009.
