About the event
Monitoring how states facilitate peaceful assemblies is an important tool for protecting the right to freedom of peaceful assembly across the OSCE region.
ODIHR will hold its bi-yearly Freedom of Peaceful Assembly Monitoring Network meeting with representatives of civil society organizations, academia and OSCE field operations working in the area of assembly monitoring.
The meeting will bring together practitioners and experts to exchange experiences from monitoring activities across the region.
Purpose of the meeting
The meeting will help identify key challenges and good practices related to monitoring peaceful assemblies.
Participants will discuss issues observed during their monitoring work, including the policing and facilitation of assemblies by state authorities and the obstacles faced by independent assembly monitors.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity for ODIHR to coordinate its work on freedom of peaceful assembly with civil society organizations and partners across the OSCE area.
Participation
Participation in this meeting is by invitation only.
