About

Violence against women and girls is still widespread, and addressing it requires action from across society.

Religious actors are often trusted voices in communities. They can help shape attitudes, support people affected by violence, and be part of solutions.

This two-day workshop brings together religious representatives, service providers, civil society and national human rights experts in Poland. The aim is to build understanding, strengthen cooperation and explore what works in practice.

What the workshop will cover

Participants will explore what violence against women and girls looks like in practice and why it matters, while discussing the role religious actors can play in both prevention and support. They will share challenges and good practices from their work, reflect on how different groups can cooperate more effectively, and identify practical ways to better support victims and survivors.

The workshop combines short inputs, discussions and group work to encourage open exchange and generate concrete ideas.

Background

This workshop is part of ODIHR’s project Capitalizing on the Human Dimension Mandate to Advance Gender Equality (CHANGE), which supports efforts to advance gender equality and address violence against women in line with OSCE commitments and international standards.

Who can take part

Participation is by invitation only.
