About
A group of 25 civil society representatives working on gender equality and human rights defenders from Georgia and Poland will gather in Warsaw on 18 and 19 July for a study visit organized by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The meeting takes place in response to an increasing demand by civil society for transnational collaboration platforms to address the situation of human rights defenders and shared challenges related to backsliding on gender equality.
The consultation builds upon the Office’s strong mandate to work with civil society, support dialogue on fundamental rights and values, including democracy and the rule of law, to design strategies to reverse gender backsliding, increase the safety, security and resilience of human rights defenders and collective impact on democratic institutions.
Welcome remarks will be delivered by Tea Jaliashvili, ODIHR First Deputy Director and Liliana Palihovici, Special Representative of the OSCE Chair-in-Office on Gender.
The meeting is part of ODIHR’s CHANGE and “Increasing Effectiveness, Strengthening Enabling Environment for Human Rights Defenders” projects.
