ODIHR International Survivors of Trafficking Advisory Council (ISTAC)

Since 2021, the International Survivors of Trafficking Advisory Council (ISTAC) has assisted ODIHR's work in combatting trafficking in human beings. It provides advice, guidance, and recommendations to ODIHR and, through ODIHR, to the OSCE participating States on anti-trafficking legislation, policies, practices, and training. The Council's work reflects the importance of including and promoting the voices of people with lived experience of human trafficking in all matters related to combating this crime.

ISTAC consists of prominent human trafficking survivor leaders from across the OSCE region, appointed for a three-year term (2026 - 2028). The Council is set up with due attention to diversity in terms of professional experience, gender and regional representation. Its members serve in their personal capacities as experts on the topic.
