About
ODIHR, in collaboration with the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law, is organizing the first meeting of the Group of Experts to develop guidelines on good lawmaking and public consultations. The roundtable discussion will gather 20 experts from across the OSCE region and with various backgrounds, including academics, members of think tanks and the judiciary, representatives of ombuds institutions and parliamentarians, to advise on and develop the guidelines.
The roundtable discussion will initiate a series of meetings and workshops that will allow experts to discuss good practices in the OSCE region on issues concerning democratic lawmaking and public consultations, and gather extensive knowledge, data and other information for developing the guidelines.
ODIHR’s decade-long experience in assessing lawmaking processes in the OSCE region will feed into the future work of the Groups of Experts and contribute to making democratic institutions and processes across the region more inclusive and accountable.
