About the event
Parliamentary disability inclusion assessments help national parliaments examine how effectively persons with disabilities are included in parliamentary life, looking at areas such as representation, lawmaking, oversight, accessibility and engagement with persons with disabilities and their representative organizations.
ODIHR, in collaboration with the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, is running a workshop, a series of interviews and focus groups, and an infrastructure accessibility check of the parliament premises, as part of an assessment of disability inclusion in the work of the Jogorku Kenesh. The results are to inform recommendations for improving the inclusion of the parliament's infrastructure, services and processes. The assessment is based on ODIHR’s methodology for assessing disability inclusion in parliaments.
