About

During this two-day seminar, 32 judges and prosecutors will receive training on the modes of liability inducing individual criminal responsibility under international humanitarian and criminal law. The different modes of liability will include perpetration, co-perpetration, planning, ordering and inciting, aiding and abetting and the concept of joint criminal enterprise. There will be a special focus on both international and regional legislation and jurisprudence.

The seminar will be led by Catherine Marchi-Uhel from the ICTY Head of Chambers.

The training seminar is a follow-up to the European Union-funded War Crime Justice Project, which was implemented by the OSCE/ODHIR in partnership with the ICTY, the UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute and OSCE field operations, and completed in October 2011.

The training seminar will utilize the international criminal law training curriculum for judges and prosecutors developed as a part of the Project.
