Inside the Toxic Triangle: How does technology shape our society? Immersive experience.

As part of the 2026 Warsaw Human Dimension Conference, ODIHR and Tactical Tech invite participants to an immersive experience exploring how artificial intelligence, social media and commercial incentives shape young people’s online lives.

How much of our online experience is actually ours? Who decides what we see, and whose interests do those decisions serve?

Through six real-world scenarios, participants will step into the shoes of a young social media user, encountering AI-shaped content, deepfakes and other potentially harmful online environments. The experience offers a closer look at the technologies and business models behind these encounters, how they generate profit and how they affect young people’s lives.

A facilitated discussion will follow, exploring what these dynamics mean for human rights and democracy and how different stakeholders can help create a safer online environment. Participants will also consider the challenges facing human rights defenders working on technology issues and how young people can have a greater say in the policies shaping their digital lives.

The event forms part of the Toxic Triangle project, which helps decision-makers and civil society understand the relationship between AI, social media and commercial incentives.

Please bring a laptop or tablet and earphones to take part in the immersive experience.
