Albania: Urgent Interim Opinion on the Draft Law of Albania on the Financing of Political Parties
On 1 April 2026, the Co-Chairs of the Special Parliamentary Committee for the Implementation of the Electoral Reform of Albania sent to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (hereinafter “ODIHR”) a request for an urgent legal review of the draft Law “On the Financing of Political Parties” (hereinafter “the Draft Law”).
This Urgent Interim Opinion was prepared in response to the above request. ODIHR conducted this assessment within its general mandate to assist OSCE participating States in the implementation of their OSCE human dimension commitments.
