Uzbekistan: Joint Opinion on the Draft Law of Uzbekistan on the Protection of Users’ Rights on Online Platforms and Websites
On 26 May 2025, the First Deputy Director of the Agency on Information and Mass Communication under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (hereinafter “Agency”) sent to the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media (hereinafter “RFoM”) a request for a legal review of the Draft Law of Uzbekistan on the Protection of Users’ Rights on Online Platforms and Websites (hereinafter “the Draft Law”).
This Joint Opinion was prepared in response to the above request. RFoM and ODIHR conducted this assessment within their respective mandates to assist OSCE participating States in the implementation of their OSCE human dimension commitments.
