Following an invitation from the authorities of Tajikistan, based on the findings and conclusions of the Needs Assessment Mission that took place from 16 to 18 December 2024, and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR has deployed an Election Observation Mission (EOM) to the 2 March 2025 parliamentary elections.
On 3 February 2025, ODIHR had to cancel the election observation mission due to the lack of assurance by the authorities of Tajikistan that observers would be accredited and able to carry out their work.
Previous Elections
ODIHR has previously observed eight elections in Tajikistan, most recently the 11 October 2020 presidential election.
