Election expert team
Federal Assembly Elections, 22 October 2023
Following an invitation to observe the federal assembly elections scheduled for 22 October 2023, based on the findings and conclusions of the Needs Assessment Mission conducted between 11 and 13 July 2023, and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR has deployed an Election Expert Team (EET) for these elections.
The ODIHR EET comprises three international staff drawn from three OSCE participating States.
The expert team will assess the election process in terms of its compliance with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards for democratic elections, as well as national legislation. Observers will focus on the political party and campaign finance regulations, internet voting trials and the participation of persons with disabilities in the election process.
In line with ODIHR methodology, the ODIHR EET will not carry out systematic or comprehensive observation of the voting, counting and tabulation on election day. The ODIHR Expert Team members will visit a small number of polling stations on election day.
A final report will be issued approximately two months after the end of the electoral process.
