Following an invitation from the authorities of Bulgaria and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR has deployed an Election Assessment Mission (EAM) for these elections.

The mission will assess the elections for their compliance with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards, as well as with national legislation. Specific aspects include the implementation of the legal framework, candidate registration, the campaign, election dispute resolution, use of voting technologies and election media coverage.

In line with ODIHR methodology, the EAM will not carry out systematic or comprehensive observation of the voting, counting and tabulation on election day. The ODIHR EAM members will, however, visit a small number of polling stations on election day.

A final report will be issued approximately eight weeks after the end of the electoral process.

Previous Elections

ODIHR has previously observed 12 elections in the country, most recently the 11 July 2021 early parliamentary elections.
