About
This online side event will provide an opportunity to discuss potential measures and policies that OSCE participating states can implement to ensure detection, identification, support and assistance to women and children victims of human trafficking. Ultimately, the goal is to decrease their vulnerability to trafficking in human beings (THB), especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event - titled “Addressing Emerging Challenges to Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (THB), Especially of Women and Children” - will take place in the margins of the 27th OSCE Ministerial Council. The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the Office of the Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (OSR/CTHB) are co-organizers.

The opening remarks will be presented by Valiant Richey, OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, and Katarzyna Gardapkhadze, ODIHR First Deputy Director (TBC).
This event will be moderated by Tatiana Kotlyarenko, OSCE ODIHR Adviser on Anti-Trafficking Issues.
