About
This webinar will share knowledge and good practices regarding the advancement of gender equality in political parties. Women leaders, political party representatives and practitioners from across the OSCE region will be among the contributors.
On this occasion, ODIHR will present its new online tool meant to help political parties evaluate their own gender equality. More relevant than ever during the health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this tool aims to boost the participation of women in politics. This will contribute to ensuring a representative political landscape and decision-making process.
Why it is important
Political parties are the main entryway to politics and should serve as gatekeepers of democracy. When political parties adopt effective gender equality measures within their own structures, they widen their support base, increase women’s access to parliaments, and contribute to better laws and policies for all.
